Castilla wished she had the answers for Dylan but she couldn’t say anything for certain without a doctor. They would know far better than she ever would. Getting Dylan inside the infirmary was the most important thing for now. That and making sure he didn’t pass out from panic or pain. She smiled when he nodded as he read her note. That would make things much easier for them. She stood up as well, standing back to give Dylan his own room to get to his feet. The look of nauseousness on his face worried her and she placed her hands on his arms to make sure he was steady. Dizziness was a sign of the vertigo Dylan probably had from not being able to hear.
It seemed to pass after a moment and Castilla took that as a good sign for now at least. Keeping her hands on Dylan’s arms, she looped one though his and helped him away from the wall. She tried to put her emotions behind her and let the nursing take over but she hated to see anyone hurt. They just need to make it to a doctor and then he’d be okay, she assured herself. With slow, steady steps, Castilla shuffled them forward. One step at a time was all Castilla was allowing them to do and she ignored the disgruntled noises from those rushing about. Slow and steady was what they needed to do because if Dylan fell, she wouldn’t be able to lift him back up.
Dylan focused on his footsteps, only walking as fast as Castilla seemed to be allowing them to. He was grateful for the extra support of her next to him as the movement seemed to make his vertigo more known. He stopped several times, his grip on her arm tightening just slightly to keep himself steady. It felt like they were never going to make any progress, especially with the amount of people rushing past them.
It was obvious when they finally found the right spot. The area was swamped with people who needed help. The chaos was evident in every aspect of the word. People were rushing around in all directions, some without any visible goal, and fear was still etched across their faces. Dylan didn’t know what to do or where to go and it was hard to think past the pain in his head. He just wanted to sit down again. He glanced at Castilla as though she had any more answers than he did but his attention was quickly stolen again as someone rushing through bumped into him. A familiar flare of annoyance sparked through him as he stumbled forward and caught Castilla’s shoulder to keep from personally greeting the floor with his face. Honestly, he was surprised he didn’t just pull her down with him.
Dark eyes darted to the door they had come through. He just wanted to get out of this room. He squinted his eyes shut against what could definitely pass for his worst headache to date and hoped that when he opened them, everyone else would just disappear.
